Valdez Lodge Centennial Celebration

Friends and Brothers: Valdez Lodge #4 F.&A.M. wishes to invite you and your family to our Lodge’s 100 year Centennial Celebration. You may participate in all or any part of the schedule as you have availability.

When: 15 through 17 August 2008

Where: Valdez, Alaska, of course!

Venue:

  • Friday: Registration will begin at 4:00 PM Friday afternoon at the lodge, followed by a steak dinner at the adjoining Elks club at approximately 6:30 PM, followed up by dessert and Fellowship back at the lodge after dinner. A hospitality room will follow at our Master home for the duration of the evening for those who wish to have further fellowship


  • Saturday: Saturday morning will continue with registration beginning at 8:00 AM along with a pancake breakfast that will run until 10:00 AM. Events will be as follows:


    • Daily museum tours (un-escorted) OR
    • Sight seeing tour on the Lulu Belle into Prince William Sound with Capt. Fred – he’s been escorting Whale Watching and Glacier tours for over 20 years into the sound with a 75+ foot boat - it is a very comfortable, enjoyable and informative tour, this should begin approx. at 11:00 am and end at 6:30 pm. subject to schedule changes OR
    • Brother Karl Amundsen has graciously offered to provide a day charter for those who wish to go Salmon fishing in the port of Valdez, at a minimal charge, but space is limited and available on a first come first served basis
    • The Grand Celebration Dinner will cap off the evening beginning at approximately 7:00 PM followed by an Open District Deputies Meeting. Dessert and Fellowship in the basement will follow the meeting. Along with our dessert, V.W. Brother Marvin Harned will be giving a short historical rendition of Masonry in Valdez. Again, there will be a hospitality room at the Masters home for those who wish to have further Fellowship.


  • Sunday: Breakfast from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM with your choice of daily events. There are Valdez Museum tours, Karl will be making another salmon fishing trip, and we will provide everyone that wishes with information on other tours in the area.

Other Information

We will be selling our Centennial Coins at the registration table, there will be door prize raffles, and hats will be available for purchase -- lapel pins and pens (the writing kind) come as part of your registration fee.

28th Annual Communication

The Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Alaska is held on the first Thursday in February. It meets in the city of Anchorage unless an invitation to meet in another city is accepted by membership vote.

In 2008, the Annual Communication will be held in the City of Kodiak, Alaska.
